Since we’ve opened, Morristown Game Vault has kept track of high scores on all our arcade games and pinballs. Not only do we list them here for all to see, but we also display them right on the wall of our arcade with a projector.

Did you know?
The first coin-operated (aka, coin-op) video game was Galaxy Game on location at Stanford University. That first machine cost $20,000 in 1971. That’s equivalent to over $127,000 in today.
In 1972, Pong was released and quickly became the first commercially successful video game operated by coins. Dozens and dozens of others followed as over 15 different companies began manufacturing coin-op video games between 1972 and 1984.
This was the Golden Age of video games with such well-known titles as Space Invaders (1978), Asteroids (1979), and of course Pac-Man (1980) dominating the market. Pac-Man is still to this day considered the most successful video game of all time. Its 350,000 individual cabinets racked up over $2 billion. With inflation, that’s over $35 billion in today’s dollars!
